Our services.

When designing a garden our approach is very hands-on. The first step is to understand our clients desired use of the space, lifestyle and personal style. It is our goal to find ways to fulfill their vision with a garden that is environmentally responsible yet artful. Plans are drawn by hand. All of the plants are selected by us based on the quality and health of the flora. On site we are there with our skilled and thoughtful team of contractors directing the placement of plants, following the process of the hardscape materials and actively participating in each step. While we work according to the original design we often make adjustments in response to the physical space to ensure that the garden is transformed with attention to detail. Being more involved in all of these steps vs handing off a design to a contractor prioritizes the flow of communication and allows our designs to be executed to their fullest potential.

Our projects range from starting from scratch to giving an existing garden a little love. Whenever possible we repurpose materials, save healthy / drought friendly plants, and cut down on waste as much as possible. Gardens with doggos and / or children as residents are some of our favorites. We welcome the chaos and challenge of designing gardens that meet everyone’s needs and require creative problem solving.

Our process…

During this consultation generally both of us are in attendance. We would meet on site to better understand your space, get to know you and learn about your lifestyle. The consultation is an hour long. While there we take photos and discuss your needs and dreams for the space. We then follow up with a conference call in which we send over some very general ideas and an outline based on our meeting.

The fee for our garden design consultation is $350 within a 10 mile radius. The fee may be subject to more depending on the distance of the location from our home base in Los Angeles.

If after our call it seems we are good fit, we would then take the following next steps:

  • Return to the site with our contractor to assess in person and measure.

  • Reconnect to share a more accurate estimate and a design drawing that takes into consideration the measurements and your feedback from our follow up conversation.

  • Once we have agreed upon a design, we send over a more specific plant palette and schedule for installation.

  • Every project is unique. Cost and timeframe differs from client to client depending on the site and scope of work. There is no one size fits all in garden design and we tailor each job accordingly.

  • After every garden is installed we return a few months after to see how things are progressing and offer maintenance services as needed.

Gardens are personal…

We understand that working with a designer is not always financially possible for everyone. It is also often times a personal passion, and some folks just like to do the work themselves. In fact many of our most treasured garden experiences are visiting the homes of folks who treat their landscape like a laboratory for learning and exploring. That being said in the 12+ years of designing landscapes we have met more and more people who were seeking some feedback to aid them in their gardening journey. As a result we have begun to offer DIY Garden Coaching Consultations…

DIY Garden Design Coaching Consultation

This meeting is in service of answering any questions you have about your existing space and how you may best approach it. Basically this is ideal for anyone who wants to DIY their garden. This is not a consultation for a design plan but instead for problem solving anything on the spot or getting helpful tips on how to tackle your yard space. Our garden design coaching sessions are great for anyone who is interested in doing the work themselves or just has a few areas they need some suggestions on. The fee for in person meetings is $250 for one hour. This consultation can also be done over zoom for $150 for one hour.
